MOVIE REVIEW: THE LAST AIRBENDER

(Nickelodeon 2010)
The Last Airbender is based on the popular Nickelodeon television show "Avatar: The Last Airbender." The television series was about four kingdoms that were able to control different elements: Water, Fire, Air, and Earth. Each Kingdom represented one of the elements. One of the kingdoms decided to get power hungry by overtaking the rest of the nations, which in turn throws the harmony of the four kingdoms. Only a prophet called "The Avatar" could control all the elements and restore the four kingdom back into balance. During the three seasons of the series, The avatar named "aang learns the basics of social diplomacy and Buddhism. Hell i learned a lot of Buddhism because of this series.

Soon after the finale of the television show, spurred a live action movie. This is where we are today.
Now I am pretty unbiased when it comes to movies, even if there is a book out i have read or a show i have seen. But the last Airbender was especially close to me since i enjoyed the series. So i have to say i had high expectations. Nonetheless i was able to watch this movie with as much neutrality as possible. So on that note.

(2010 Paramount)

Where do i start with this disaster. I guess the first would be the Direction. Where was the director when the movie was being made? A sane, experience director would have reviewed the scenes and seen that the movie wasn't working. The movie was doomed in the first fifteen minutes of the movie. From the casting, to the acting, to the story, this movie bombed. It was such a disappointment to see raw material turn into rotten tomatoes. This movie has so much potential. The story made no sense, the actors were either over dramatic and made no connection to the story, which made the movie uninteresting. The writer was the only one who probably knew what was going on because i certainly didn't know what was.

M. Night, Word of advice. Get organized. There is no easy way to make a movie. How dare you half ass a cult classic. Shame on you

My Review: Please take M. Nights Director's keys until he sobers up.
