MOVIE REVIEW: MEGAMIND

(2010 Dreamworks)
SYNOPSIS: 2 Baby aliens from dying planets come to earth to become today's villain and hero.

CHARACTERS: The story started out well, and has a very relaxed feel to it. I really liked the beginning because it didn't take itself so seriously. The humor was subtle and they used a lot of the acting from the facial expressions. I really loved that. I didn't like though the pace. The jokes felt the same and halfway through the movie i felt like i was forcing myself to laugh. By the end of the movie, i was grateful it was over, even though it was all charming. This movie fell short for me, and the sad part is that i really wanted it to succeed.

REVIEW: Watch this movie at red box, that way you can fall asleep to it. I know that i am a little hard on the movies, but when you have someone like Will Ferrell, i felt like his acting and character wasn't surprising enough. Its ironic that the character is supposed to be not so surprising but as a viewer, your expecting the lead to be a little out there. I didn't get that from this movie. it had a good start and didn't fulfill its original goal. I love Will Ferrell, I love Brad Pitt, hell i love all of Tina Fey's work, but this movie was disappointing.

SUMMARY
GRADE: C+
RECOMMENDATION: THIS ONE YOU CAN WAIT FOR REDBOX. IT WAS CHARMING BUT JUST FELL SHORT BY THE END. EDITING WASN'T GOOD.

Movie Review: Morning Glory

(2010 Bad Robot productions)

SYNOPSIS: A successful Businesswoman starts a job at a failing News Station.

CHARACTERS: Wow, just wow. From the moment the movie started to the end, this movie was well acted, well played in everyway. I loved this movie. Rachel McAdams was phenomenal and enjoyable as a quirky intellectuality arousing businesswoman. I loved everyone in this movie. Thanks to the writing and the flow of the movie, this movie worked on every angle.

REVIEW: The last time I saw a comedy this good, I couldn't help but laugh the whole time. I love this movie from its subtle humor to the off beat characters. It was beautifully cinematic, from the landscape to the characters performance. This is a movie you won't want to miss! This is a movie that teaches how to prioritize your life even after you have achieved your dreams.

GRADE: A
RECOMMENDATION: GO SEE THIS. ITS WONDERFUL FROM BEGINNING TO THE END.

Movie Review: Secretariat

SYNOPSIS: A woman's mother dies, the woman is on the verge of losing her father, and his farm. So instead of selling her fathers prize winning horses, she takes to the track with one of them.

CHARACTERS: You can't go wrong with Diane Lane...or can you? The characters were boring and over acted. It took too long for me to get interested in any of the characters including the lead. Diane Lane did her best, but it wasn't enough for my taste. I kept catching her lose her charisma, and bouncing in and out of character. By the end of the movie i understood all the chaos, but by then, I wanted to sleep.

REVIEW: I am losing my motivation to see horse movies, hence why i waited so long to see this one. Diane portrays an honorable character, yet i feel falls short, as well as everyone else. No one is believable, just boring. John Malcavich was my favorite of this movie. He was entertaining, and i was able to warm up to his normal quirky self. On a positive note, the horse races were amazing, and the powerful cinematography was absolutely beautiful. Save your money for something more entertaining.

GRADE C+
RECOMMENDATION: I was bored for most of the movie. Thank goodness for the races or i would have fell asleep. This has potential, but falls too short. Save your money

Millionaire Man (Part Five)

Millionaire Man (Part Five)

Some people lose there way whether its drugs, alcohol, or people. Association with these people destroys the frail morality that we believe is our own. At the same time though, positive influences can make things feel like normal. I have lost myself in so many ways but with Amanda and Jesse by my side, I felt right. Things were ok with them around and I was losing my stubborn ego to my new found companions. Nonetheless, I could never get past any self mutilating ideas past them without being swiftly silenced.

It was now Monday morning, the worst day of the week. Nothing kills me like a morning with stress pockets under my eyes and an uninhibited hangover from life. It was another day with the same life I hated and the same damn responsibilities even with some recent positive changes.

Amanda and Jesse slept in my bed with me and wouldn’t let me leave their sight. So I yawned, and stretched. I look back briefly to see the two laying quietly. As I pulled up my jeans, I saw Amanda probe my body with her eyes. I gazed back with a lashing glare. Her green eyes watched me without a stir until she noticed my mirrored reaction to her.

“Well,” I said. “I’m going to work, so can you guys get out of my bed?” Amanda kept looking at me, but said nothing. “Ok, um, I guess ill be back later.”

“Don’t try to off yourself while you’re gone,” Amanda said. Her tone was deathly serious, yet uninviting insensitive, “Because I will find you and god help me that doesn’t happen, because in hell, there isn’t any rules punk.”

“Look why do either of you guys care?” I snapped, “You two come walking in like you know me, sleep with me and put me on house arrest as if you can. Who the hell do you think you are?” Amanda hesitated briefly to catch a tear, and then looked back in anger. “Maybe your life doesn’t matter to you, but it matters to us. You have no idea what you’ve lost until you don’t have it. So fuck your self righteous attitude punk, and fuck you. You think you know us? You have no idea.” Amanda looked away from me in anger and embarrassment. She was embarrassed that she had told me too much about her life before she wanted to.

“We will be waiting here for you, when you come back.” She said indignity.

I shut the door leaving Jesse and Amanda behind. “Somebody cares about me?” I said to in my mind, “They must be lying. They have to be.” My mind wandered aimlessly across the day. I tried to focus, but I couldn’t hang on to one thing during the day. I wanted to be happy or sad or anything that would calm my mind. At least when I was suicidal I felt like I could make a committed decision to something. Instead though I went about my day in irritation and confused mixed feelings about two stoned good Samaritans.

When I got home, sudden changes were made in my home. The bathroom no longer was full of mold and calcium. The entire house was spotless, and new furniture was moved in. The smell of pot left a lingering after effect to the work that was done to the place.

I didn’t know how to react. I wanted to be mad but the love of the work done was intoxicating. Amanda walked in and smiled. “Hey,” she calmly said. “I know you don’t know me, or Jesse, but we knew someone like you, and we did nothing to help them. We made fun of them and did a lot of shit to him. Then the guy died and we could have prevented it and we didn’t. You’re our second chance.”

Amanda then sat me down, and told me the story of the worst day of the two Samaritans life. When she had finished, I looked at the two of them with nothing to respond to.

“Well I don’t need help, and you aren’t making fun of me. Thank you for everything, but I know what I want.” I walked into my room and shut the door. I could hear Amanda and Jesse whispering, and after a while later giggling in sued. On the outside it seemed like the most perfect night. But I just wanted to mess the place up all over again, just out of spite of them using me for their redemption.

The Next day at work, the man in the black suit walked in and smiled once again at me. “How is my depressed pizza boy today?” He winked. I shrugged, “You know the same,”

“Well,” He said sitting up straight, “I have a proposition for you….”

Movie Review: Due Date

SYNOPSIS: A father to be travels across the United States with a crazy, off key actor to make it to the hospital for his baby to be born. Chaos in sues with this couple.

CHARACTERS: Its not hard at all to take two strong actors like Robert Downey Jr, and Zack Galfinakis, who have proven their talents over and over in almost every movie and put them in a comedy. Both RDJr and Zack are hilarious in this movie. Robert's transitions from a bad guy to a good guy in a smooth easy transition. One thing i didn't like about this movie though, the chemistry between all of the characters seemed almost forced. Zach and Robert did their best to have chemistry, but it didn't flow very well. Downey's character the entire movie was supposed to be annoyed with Galfinnakis character the entire movie, yet some how enjoy his company during the climax.

I would like to say that i believed that Downey and Jamie Foxx were friends for 20 years, but i just didn't see it.

REVIEW: It was difficult to enjoy this movie. The movie was definitely funny every five minutes, but this movie seemed forced and drawn out. I loved the characters in this movie, and the twists were funny, but i feel they were drawn out. It was as if they made a movie because we wanted to see the two main characters together. This movie has been made a thousand times, (Recently, it was almost a "Hangover" spin off). Nonetheless the characters are solid, and the movies funny, but the movie's pace was slower then it should have been and i felt it needed something more then the bland storyline, and the partially forced humor.

SUMMARY:
GRADE C
REVIEW: I LOVE THE ACTORS, IT SHOULD HAVE WORKED MORE THEN IT DID. NONETHELESS, IF YOUR NOT A CRITIC LIKE MYSELF, THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO BE A LOT MORE FUN THEN I HAD. THIS MOVIE JUST DIDN'T WORK FOR ME. IT WAS FUNNY, BUT JUST DIDN'T WORK.
RECOMMENDATION: SEE IT IN MOVIE THEATRE IF YOU DONT TAKE MOVIES TOO SERIOUSLY, OTHERWISE AT HOME, WHERE YOU CAN DAZE OFF ONCE AND A WHILE.
