MOVIE REVIEW : Black Swan

(2010 FOX SEARCHLIGHT)

SYNOPSIS: With a lack of independence and self confidence, A long time ballet dancer trains and practices to hit her potential while dealing with fear and anxiety of an upcoming performance.

CHARACTERS: This movie really shows Natalie Portman at her best. To see her in this movie is really out of her character. Its dark, yet fluid character. Its raw, passionate and edgy. Nonetheless, Natalie nails this part. As you watch her transform, you lose yourself in the character as well. If Natalie doesn't get the Oscar, i will be surprised. She was fantastic. Mila Kunis also played a wonderful part, matching her sauciness with Portman's passion to her craft. Although seeing Mila match Natalie, i still believe Natalie truly did the character Justice.

REVIEW: The movie was superb on all levels, from the mystery of the leads state of mind, to the hours of routine to make that one perfect performance. I was disturbed by this movie which i believe was the purpose. With this movies disturbing images, made up with subtle

SUMMARY:
GRADE:A+
RECOMMENDED. WAY TO THROW EVERYTHING UPSIDEDOWN. SEE THIS IN THEATERS. ITS A TRIP

  1. I agree with the review but I am surprised you did not give it a letter grade. This movie deserves an A+ if not A++++++. Thanks for sharing the experience with me. Even with all the breeders who should have been at home - LOL!
