MOVIE REVIEW: DESPICABLE ME

Synopsis: The worlds most infamous Villain teams up with three girls from an orphanage to steal the moon before his nemesis does.

Review: Don't let my synopsis fool you, Despicable me is flawless on a lot of levels. The plot is unique, the characters are original and funny in their own special way which is always a plus. I loved Steve Carell's performance of the main character and his yellow minions don't stop with the laughs. By the end of the movie, i was starving for more, which is rare.

This was easy to be nice to this one because it was good. I would highly recommend for a good laugh to get you away from the old boring vampire, or crappy movie out there.

GRADE: B+
RECOMMEND: TAKE YOUR KIDS, YOUR GRANDMA, OR YOUR MOM, THIS MOVIE HAS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE AND IS QUITE ENTERTAINING.

Falling asleep at the wheel that is my life.

Oddly enough, wake up calls happen when you least expect them. I can't say i am a big fan of the people who have to give you that word of advice but still.

So here is my situation. I have an amazing boyfriend. Thats the only plus right now in my situation. I live in someones living room, i have a part time job that does nothing for my past due bills and im stuck in stagnancy hoping one of my parts for a movie is going to do me some good. I dont know whether this has just hit me or i am just crazy. i dont know. All i know is i need to wake up and find me some juice to get me going.

I think im addicted to coca cola. Its bad to be, but as i type this, im craving a coke. Damn advertising just gets me thirsty. Anywho, i love acting, but im not getting anywhere with it at the moment. I dont know whether its best to move on to something more profitable or to keep pluggin away. i know i am a good actor, but tonight woke me up a bit. I need to focus of taking better care of myself and avoid mooching off anyone trying to give it to me. After all, they are my friends, not my resource.

so first, job, then apartment. Then see where it takes me from there. I am not quiting acting, and i dont plan on it, for i have a bucket list to accomplish:) I have nine years to win an oscar and i have no doubt i will do it. By then more productions will be coming to Oregon.

Ok finally i want to touch on the boy. I dont think i have every met my equal. Its funny i used to joke and say "its nice to get liked back." But seriously it really is. Its nice to have someone jealous about you. Its nice to have someone care enough to speak up when they feel you have misstepped. Its even better to have someone hold you in an honest, caring way. That is all i want to say at this time.

Well thats all, See you in the Movies:)

MOVIE REVIEW: THE LAST AIRBENDER

(Nickelodeon 2010)
The Last Airbender is based on the popular Nickelodeon television show "Avatar: The Last Airbender." The television series was about four kingdoms that were able to control different elements: Water, Fire, Air, and Earth. Each Kingdom represented one of the elements. One of the kingdoms decided to get power hungry by overtaking the rest of the nations, which in turn throws the harmony of the four kingdoms. Only a prophet called "The Avatar" could control all the elements and restore the four kingdom back into balance. During the three seasons of the series, The avatar named "aang learns the basics of social diplomacy and Buddhism. Hell i learned a lot of Buddhism because of this series.

Soon after the finale of the television show, spurred a live action movie. This is where we are today.
Now I am pretty unbiased when it comes to movies, even if there is a book out i have read or a show i have seen. But the last Airbender was especially close to me since i enjoyed the series. So i have to say i had high expectations. Nonetheless i was able to watch this movie with as much neutrality as possible. So on that note.

(2010 Paramount)

Where do i start with this disaster. I guess the first would be the Direction. Where was the director when the movie was being made? A sane, experience director would have reviewed the scenes and seen that the movie wasn't working. The movie was doomed in the first fifteen minutes of the movie. From the casting, to the acting, to the story, this movie bombed. It was such a disappointment to see raw material turn into rotten tomatoes. This movie has so much potential. The story made no sense, the actors were either over dramatic and made no connection to the story, which made the movie uninteresting. The writer was the only one who probably knew what was going on because i certainly didn't know what was.

M. Night, Word of advice. Get organized. There is no easy way to make a movie. How dare you half ass a cult classic. Shame on you

My Review: Please take M. Nights Director's keys until he sobers up.

THE LAST AIRBENDER
GRADE: F
RECOMMEND: DON'T WATCH IT. IF YOU GET THIS AS A GIFT, RE GIFT THIS OR BURY IT.

MOVIE REVIEW: TOY STORY 3

(Copyright Pixar 2010)

So i took me a while to appreciate my opinion about movies and i think Richard Roaper and I are similar in some aspects, like how he grade the movies, and sometimes not....So Some of my blogs are going to be Movie Reviews and the scale is going to be like Richards. PS I may be mean...Just giving you a heads up

Since the first one, Toy Story has always been one of the leading flagships for animation. Pixar has been so kind to show us that no matter what story they do, whether is a jealous toy, a curious robot, a fish searching for his gimped finned son, we can expect the best from them. The Name Pixar doesn't have a smudge on it.

Sequels always scare me. I feel its so risky to continue a good story when there is no need. If i had it my way there wouldn't be sequels.

I regress though, for Pixar has the freedom to do what they like, because their reputation once again precedes them in Toy Story 3.

Toy Story 3 starts off with Andy getting ready to go to college. The toys continue to keep contriving plans to get Andy to play with them, and well you know how most 17 year old feels about toys. Before he leaves, Andy's Mother accidentally sends his toys to a daycare, where the toys's idea of a daycare, changes when they get there.

So My Review: The story is fantastic, and Toy story still keeps up with the subtle references from classic movies like Star Wars and others. The characters are still fresh as if we never left them. The catchphrases are hilarious and the comedy is spot on(especially the conversations between the Ken Doll and Barbie).

Everyone Reprises their roles(except Jim Varney "slinky-dog" who died in 2000) which is a blessing because the new character fit in perfectly. Whoopi Goldberg and Michael Keaton are some of the few that join the cast.

A+ is highest and F- is worst. I will also let you know if you should pass or see this movie, so you don't waste your money or time.

TOY STORY 3
GRADE: A
RECOMMENDATION: SEE IT IN THE MOVIE THEATER, DON'T MISS IT!

I got Lucky:)

(Pride 2010)
Well i am going to say it...it really hard to believe i am in a relationship. I say this not because i'm not happy but because i was so comfortable being single. Ill be honest, i kinda like myself a lot. Its true! So to be able to share me with someone else and really like the person just like i like me is wonderful.

OK so i'm coming off conceded but if you want a healthy relationship you have to start out not looking for it. I think another one is to date yourself for a while. Get to know what you like about you, and what you don't like about you. If you have more cons then pros about yourself, its time take a break from looking for someone else. Because you need to appreciate what you do for yourself before you can have someone else appreciate. Its the "emergency on an airplane" method. You have to help yourself before you can help anyone else. Don't be a hero, help you, then find your special man. (PS this advice is also good for women)

So let me tell you about the Josh. Wow where do i start. He is sexy, smart, funny and my better half. He respects my insecurities and accepts my faults. He has this dominance about himself that is neither intimidating nor irritating and i love that about him. I see him long term:)

(Josh:))

So moving on to a new topic, but honestly, i am so lucky to have Josh in my life.

After my tenth audition with a special big budget series here in Oregon, i only hope for sunshine with it. I know eventually i will get something, but got to keep my faith alive.

Recently i was casted in a 24 hour film racing contest as a lead character. I played a scared, character that didn't have a lot confidence but still wanted to be positive. It was definitely a blessing to work with the director and reworking with producer Mark.

In August I plan on working with them again for a 48 hour film racing contest.

Thats all for now...See you in the movies:)

Homophobia in the Gay Community...and other fine tidbits

Prejudice is an emotion that won't stop the earth from spinning, but hate can and prejudice is just a gateway to hate. The world isn't perfect, we all know this, but we can change so much about how we treat each other especially our own community. I know when i came out of the closet, i lost not only my friends but my family. the Gay community was and is my family and support system next to the couple of people I rely on as close personal support. I can only imagine the people who solely rely on the gay community for guidance and support.

We all leave a life full of hate and prejudice, whether it is family or some of the public, but isn't ironic that as a community we are willing to be just as hateful toward certain people in the community, such as flaming gays or drag queens? We look at most of them like they are our gay comedians. In fact one gay once said," man i wish they would just not be crazy open about it. " My friends, there is something very wrong with that statement. The more we look each other with the same hate we were thrown, the less mature we all will grow. If we can learn to accept each other for what we can give each other, we can accept everything about ourselves...

Ok, enough of that rant, so I got the chance to go to my old roomies bday party and it was a blast. I haven't had that much fun in forever. So fun! I am also looking forward to a photo shoot in july where i will play a young character from the cast of "Gilligan's Island." Also My good friend Mark is producing a 24 hour film I plan on working with him on.

Well after my rant, Im Tired. But I would like to announce my new short story i have begun called "Millionaire Man."

Well thats all for now! See you in the Movies:)

Integrity Vs Manipulation

I have spent the last couple weeks working on me. Therapy is for that granted, but sometimes you have to just sit down and breathe a little bit and enjoy the current surroundings. I look at my life and realize there is so much wrong with manipulating people into what you want them to believe. Contrary to the general census of people, we all expect to look at each other like we did something wrong, when in fact most of us are good wholesome people.

I can't help thinking that even as an actor, i am still trying to manipulate people. Obviously in the beginning i want that, Because i want them to think i am the character they see on television or Film. But as an individual of integrity i don't think its fair to not admit that I'm gay. By the time I reach the big budget films, this kind of thing wont matter but right now it does, so for my own sanity, that is my answer. So yes, there is a "Human Rights" sticker on the back of my car now and will stay there. I would rather be a man of integrity and not manipulation.

So on another note, I know I talk about my friends like they are gifts from heaven, but they are.
Tonight i was at my friend Nikki's Singing competition. Nikki is also a fellow actor as well as an amazing singer. To see him on stage only made me want to get up and start performing as well. I think that is the difference between an actor and an aspiring individual. We all may want it but the truth is how much.

2 auditions and now a callback has me all excited again. I really love doing this and the way i performed today has no reason to doubt how acting makes me feel. Although the call back was for a paranoid meth addict, I still soaked up every minute. I can't wait to see how the other one turned out.

Anywho, thats all for now. See you in the Movies:)
